Itty bitty alert! Sargent Pepper (aka Sarge) is a tiny little fellow at just 45 pounds. Such a great size for those of us who love the bully breeds but in a very compact package.
At 7 years old, Sarge has a mild energy level that would fit in well with a person or family that enjoys the company of a dog without all of the rigorous exercise needs of a young dog. He has a few quick moments of zoomies and then is back to just hanging out. Sarge enjoys his walks and is very good on the leash. He loves going for car rides and would enjoy taking rides with his new family.
Sarge is a cuddle bug and will crawl into a lap at any opportunity! He would love to snuggle on the couch with you to catch up on your favorite Netflix shows. He is very eager to please and extremely food motivated which makes him super easy to train. He already knows the commands Sit, Stay and Off.
Sarge is currently crated during the day in his foster home and to be honest he isn’t a fan. He is great (not at all destructive) in the home and could likely be left uncrated without any issues although we would always suggest containment of some sort at first until an adopted dog is comfortable in the adoptive home. Currently Sarge sleeps on a dog bed in the master bedroom with access to an open door crate.
Sarge has been appropriate when meeting other dogs, but prefers to be your one and only. He should not be placed with cats as he is a little too interested.
Sarge’s ideal home would be with someone who is home often and enjoys the company of a sweet and laid back pal. A fenced yard isn’t required but he would sure love daily walks to explore the neighborhood. He makes friends wherever he goes!
