Alexis, the dog on the right, brought into an Upstate New York shelter by
police after a drug raid is only one of scores of frightened Pit Bulls arriving
in shelters every day.
Few come back out. Out of the Pits, a non-profit organization founded in 1996, is dedicated to the rescue of those Pit Bulls that have been abandoned and abused. We seek to educate the public about the true nature of the Pit Bull and to restore the breed to its former position of esteem in the hearts and minds of people everywhere. We invite you to spend a moment with our dogs and hear their side of the story... |

Thank you Thank you Thank you
to Merle Borenstein and the generous patrons of her celebrated
Armadillo Restaurant
in Kingston, NY who just held a Chocolate Lover's Brunch and Fine Wine
Auction to help Out of the Pits raise much-needed funds.
Proceeds from this highly successful event are already being used to bring more suffering
pit bulls into our program.
