Winter

Winter is a one-year-old pitbull/cattle dog mix who’s looking for her forever home. She hasn’t had the easiest start in life, but that hasn’t stopped her from absolutely loving people and playtime.

Winter had nine puppies just before Labor Day, and she’s currently in foster care recovering from her spay surgery. She was a wonderful mama to nine chubby pups! (Baby Rusty is also available through OOTP.)

Winter gets along well with her canine foster brother & she co-exists with her feline foster sisters too. Winter is gentle with kids and has lived with them before. However, she is still learning her manners and she can jump higher than you’d think to give you kisses. For this reason, her foster family recommends no kids under 12.

Winter loves going for walks, car rides, and hikes. She is a fast walker & could be a fantastic trail running buddy. Her favorite game is tug. She is possessive of toys and chews, so supervision is necessary when these items are out around other dogs. Her other hobbies include running through the leaves, chasing balls outside, sniffing for critters, and taking long naps while cuddling her humans.

Winter is crate trained (she loves her crate!) and sleeps through the night with no issues. At just under 40 lbs, this medium framed girl is the perfect size for someone who wants a smaller dog that can keep up with an active individual, couple, or family.
