Meet Tootsie, an 18-week-old little girl who had a rough start to life. Her foster mom describes her as a “little love bug” and sometimes calls her a “spunky monkey.” Tootsie loves snuggling and will follow you around to ensure you’re okay, keeping you on your toes with her supervisory skills. When playtime arrives, watch out – this small but mighty pup loves playing fetch with her tennis balls and isn’t afraid to jump into a pool to retrieve them.
She’s learning to be a potty pro, sometimes forgetting to go to the door, but her foster mom knows when she needs to go. Tootsie is crate-trained and enjoys special treats when her foster mom is away. She sleeps in her crate most nights, initially fussing but settling down quickly, especially when the crate is in her mom’s room.
Tootsie’s favorite activities include morning snuggles in bed with her foster mom and car rides. She’s also extremely enthusiastic about food, likely due to not getting enough earlier in life. She eats in her crate and can get excited, but she savors every bite. Tootsie is learning to sit for treats and is a quick learner, proving she’s a smart cookie!
Tootsie can be picky about her playmates, but she adores playing with her foster sister, as long as she doesn’t take her belongings. She’s still learning her manners but improves daily. Due to her high prey drive, homes with electronic fences and small animals aren’t the best fit. Tootsie would thrive as the only dog, soaking up all the attention and showering her owner with love.
