Otis is a 1-year-old bundle of love and energy — your typical young pup still learning the ropes.
He’s very friendly and affectionate, and when we met Otis he did jump up with excitement at first but he calmed down quickly with a little ignoring and direction.
Current Behavior & Training:
Recently started crating during the day and is doing well with it. Did chew his bed (young dog behavior!). He’s had some recent accidents in the house, but these began after a car accident and his owner’s husband not returning home — likely stress-related. No signs of food aggression.
Socialization:
Otis was in doggy daycare briefly but struggled to pick up on social cues from other dogs and got a bit nippy, so he’s still learning appropriate dog-to-dog manners. He did react to a larger dog barking at him, possibly out of fear. Other dogs are still a bit of a question mark, but it sounds like there’s hope with proper introductions and guidance.
Ideal Situation:
His current caretaker is willing to keep him until a forever home is found to avoid the stress of multiple transitions. He’d thrive in a home that can give him structure, continued training, and lots of love.
