T-Rex- Adopted

Who’s ready for T-Rex? Do you work from home? Do you want a constant companion? Are you involved in dog sports? Then T-Rex is the pup for you.

He’s about 4 months old and 35 pounds so he’s going to be a big boy! He’s house trained and will go to the door when he needs to go out. He knows sit, down, come, place, and stay. He’s making great progress on loose leash walking. Loves chewing bully sticks and squeaky toys, playing tug (pretty solid release as well) and having fun chase games.

He could do well with a patient canine sister who loves to play, and will help show him that new things aren’t scary. A meet and greet will be needed to see. He has been ok with some dogs and scared of others. He is very scared when they bark. We’re slowly trying to condition him to by giving yummy treats or fun toys when he hears neighbor dogs barking.

T-Rex requires someone who has a lot of patience and availability to spend the time helping him with separation anxiety. He’s extremely anxious when he’s left alone. He doesn’t like being crated or confined (will climb over gates) so we’re working on him being ok alone for very, very short periods of time with the goal of working up. It’s a gradual process so he needs someone committed to months of time and someone familiar with separation anxiety treatment. If you put in the time and effort you’ll be rewarded greatly, although he will never be the kind of dog you can leave home all day while you work. It’s important to be prepared for a lifetime commitment to his needs.

T-Rex would be ideal for rally, agility, GRC or scent work. He loves to learn, needs a job, and will do just about anything for chicken! He’s super fun to train and has incredible potential. He’s not interested in being a couch potato, he is active and can’t wait to start his day at 6 a.m.! Classes will also help him become more confident so that’s very important for him. He does need continued obedience work. He’s very cautious when meeting new people, and takes time to warm up.

He’s untested with cats and kids, but would be best suited to an active single or couple that’s devoted to his training.

He likes going for rides, because he just want to be with you but currently gets carsick.
