Rayna has been with the rescue group Paws Across Oswego for a few months. She came to them after the local Shelter reached out for help finding out why Rayna was blind…everyone hoping that since she was still young she might somehow get better.
Two of the rescue volunteers took Rayna on the long drive to Albany to have an MRI and see the specialists there. It was found that she had two hematomas on her brain from an injury. One that must have happened when she was a very small puppy. Although it was found she was in no pain, and will not get worse, she will never regain her vision.
But that doesn’t stop this beautiful girl. Rayna loves to run and play in the large yard in the grass and loves all the volunteers here. She will need a very special home that understands the needs of a blind dog and a fenced in yard. But blind dogs adapt very quickly to their surroundings. So don’t let that stop you from adopting! She is an absolute sweetheart and deserves a wonderful home.
