Lucas came to us by way of a volunteer who spoke up for him through an animal control facility. In the 3 months he was there, no one noticed he was deaf.
Lucas is a big boy with a joyous personality. His goofy personality, lovingly earned him the nickname, Scooby Doo.
We did noticed Lucas had an unusual gait, so when he was neutered, X-rays were done and it was recommended he see a specialist because of a vertebra infirmity. He had a full evaluation and the specialist recommended he go on supplements, no restrictions in activity, and revisit in a month to see if surgery was an option.
Lucas has done great at adoption clinics meeting a variety of people, and everyone he’s sure is his friend! He rides well in the car and would be a good fit with the right female dog. Lucas needs a patient family willing to help him continue to learn hand signals and house skills, but we know you will find him worth every minute of the time you will spend.
