Delilah

ABOUT ME

This is an amazing story that we don’t get to share enough! In order for you to appreciate the victory that is this beautiful girl we have to first tell you her background.

Several years ago, a very scared but beautiful dog was found in a basement in New York City. OOTP took this girl in an named her Delilah. She was scared and terrified of everything around her. On walks she tried to attack the tires of cars and unfortunately she saw everything in the world as something that could cause her harm because she didn’t know any better.

She was in a foster for a few years working on these issues when it was discovered that she has cancer. We honestly didn’t think she would make it so she was moved to “hospice care”. Well we should’ve known he determined spirit and we are happy to report that with a diet change and second opinion we now know Delilah can be adopted out again.
She does still have skin cancer that results in skin sores BUT with the right diet changes they are looking better then ever! The vet does not think she has a decreased quality of life or decreased life expectancy. This incredible news of our resilient girl has allowed us to once again make Delilah AVAILABLE.

Delilah still chases tires from time to time but we all have chased something we shouldn’t once or twice in life

She can possibly live with an older male dog but will need to meet him to make sure it’s a match. She is good with cats as long as they respect that the food in her dish is hers only! No exceptions, she does not want to share her food with a cat or any other furry friends. Honestly.. we don’t blame her for that!

She is approximately 70 pounds. She might be a big girl but honestly just loves to chill.

She loves everybody she meets, no questions asked – in fact she’s never met a stranger!

If you think you may want to take a chance on a girl we have been rooting for, for years we would love to hear from you! Delilah deserves nothing more than a family to live out the rest of her life with.
