Dixie – Adopted!
Dixie looks so serious in her photo but she is actually a happy go lucky love bug! She is passive/submissive to other dogs and got along great with the other dogs in her foster home. We are working on cat testing her. Dixie loves all people but especially kids. She listens very well and learns very quickly.
Dixie is a sweet southern girl who moved to New York with her eight puppies to look for a better life and a forever home. She nurtured her babies like the best of moms until they were ready to find their forever homes. Now it is Dixie’s time for some special attention in the spotlight. She is about four years old, approximately fifty pounds with very distinctive eyes – one blue and one brown.
Dixie is a smart girl who wants to please her family. She mastered the dog door from house to yard and back on the first day. She is very curious about everything she sees from neighbors walking with their dogs and children, hummingbirds and a horse and carriage transporting a bride and groom to their ceremony.
Dixie is very affectionate but not at all pushy about wanting attention. She is happy to be nearby relaxing while her foster family is busy or hanging out nearby. She rides very well in the car and is pretty much a natural popcorn catcher! She enjoys a good leash walk, playing ball and her foster family thinks that she wants to be a swimmer.
Dixie would love to have a family who can share their life and love with her; all indications are that she will be a very appreciative girl!
